We used this kit to repair the top on my wife's miata. A small tear appeared on the rear glass window corner. We bought the kit and chose to do the sewing repair instead of the no sew which is an option. My wife is a seamstress so it made sense. The kit comes with everything you need. We followed the steps of the instructions to the letter. We don't have long time results as we just completed the repair last weekend. Only downfall is you can see the sewing seam through the patch of course. This was expected though. So far so good.

Unfortunately, I had a branch hit the soft top of my jeep. Luckily, it hit in about the perfect spot so that all that happened was a small tear in the fabric. I purchased the kit and followed the instructions. I was able to sew up the top, seal it, and put the tape down, just fine. I haven't had a single drop of water leak through so far.

The only negative I would say is that the tape does wrinkle up a bunch when it's wet. It won't ever blend well with the top. However, who cares, it's not leaking.

I noticed a small hole, about a half inch long on the driver's side. From outside it looked like a cut but from the inside I saw that it was a spot worn through from the inside out. I used the needle and thread to put about five stitches in after I let the top down so the cut could close up. Then I put the top back up, latched it and put a coat of adhesion glue on the inside of the top and then a two inch piece of the vinyl patch supplied. I did not put any glue or tape on the outside. I also spotted a worn area on the same corresponding place on the passenger side and used the glue and a patch to protect that area. My top is about 18 years old and car is garage kept. So far so good after a month.
