Wasn't sure if I was going to post this. And don't take it any other way than a learning post. Hope I can change some ones life by reading this.

So anyway. I'm going to back track 2 weeks.
Woke up one night short of breathe. Had a quick cigarette. It went away, went back to bed. Got up at 6am and went to work. No issues. Woke up again the next night. Some what worse this time. Had a butt. Went away, went back to bed. But it happened again a few hours later. Stayed up til I had to go to work. Went in and fine all day. The 3rd night. Happens again, same scenario. But it doesn't get better. But being the loyal employee I am. With no sleep. I go to work. The people I work with make it extremely clear to me. I need to go to the hospital. I hate Doctors and Hospitals. Well, I go to an Urgent Care Center, and they call an Ambulance without me knowing.

So after a week in the hospital, with no idea what the hell happened to me. They finally do a cardiac catheder. Which is where they stick a camera in a main aretry to your heart. Now....i,was 100% positive they'd find nothing. I've worked out for years. I try to eat right..well they find 3 arteries blocked. A 40 % and 2 10s. I was absolutely shocked. I went into an instant depression that for the most part lasted 6 months.

Without going into all the details. If you smoke. I did for 35 years. If you have a family history of high cholesterol, which I do, but didn't know, and you have a to much stress in your life. You could end up like this.
    IMG_2401.jpg
They shaved me like a pig being lead to slaughter. Cut me open...well, like a pig. And graphed in 3 arteries they took from my leg.

My point being. Even though you think your taking good care of yourself. There are silent killers. And if you smoke. I would seriously consider quitting. Have your cholesterol checked on a regular basis. And you have a stressful job. Quit. Loll. But seriously find a way to release it. Suggestion...jump in your rig, and hit a trail.

As we do in any thread. What has this upgrade done for me....and my "rig". I went cold turkey and quit smoking. 2 years now. Hit the gym even harder. Lol. Eat more chicken and fish. I know...boring. but I still have my cheese burgers and pizza. But the big change....stress. I don't look at things, life, my job the same. I have a knack of making everything fun for me and my co workers..my family...my friends. And as I am sure most of you here have seen. My sense of humor can be a little off the hookand it's all good. You get it or not. I'm having fun.

Hope I was able to help at least one member here. It was worth it to me. :bananadance:.

Thanks for sharing. Good advice and we should all live life everyday to its fullest. Jeeping can be a great stress reliever and work is definitely not at least mine is not.

Ps. The black rope around my neck. A piece of my Dad Is in that cylinder. And I have no doubt in my mind. He had something to do with all that happened to me. He passed from a heart attack. And in some way. He helped me. Beleive it or not. I became a beleiver.

Awesome guys. I know it wasn't easy to quit. :hattip:. I tried numerous times over the years. And it finally took 2 weeks in the hospital for it to click with me. Congrats guys.

Almost 3 years here. I work out a lot, but still eat what I want. Can no longer keep the belly fat at bay. Doc says I have to start watching what I eat. Isn't that why we work out so we don't have too. I want to give up.

3 years. Fantastic. Honestly, after 3 years. How many times a day does it still cross your mind? After eating, with a cup of coffee. A beer??? I know the excat day of my last cigarette. How many people do???

I never had any issues with my weight. I was 150 at 6 foot when I got out of the hospital. In 2 or so months. I was up to 180. Settled back down to 170. And still trying to put on another couple pounds. My problem is. I like chicken. I like fish. So I make it several times a week different ways.

Ok....I'll stop, there before this turns into a cooking thread. Lol. What I learned. Every thing is OK in moderation. Biggest issue with most if not all of us. Is sugars and breads. Biggest belly fat contributors. Moderate them. And your good to go.

Ok....so to end this in a JKBob fashion. In a tribute to my second anniversary to my day of awakening. I shaved my chest and belly.

We all will reach that point where working out doesn't compensate for unhealthy habits or food choices. For some it may be time to make major adjustments or just take your chances.

May 5th. Over a year now. Oh, that's right. You did mention that. August 6th for me. As I was driving to the Urgent Care Center.

So what made you quit? Any one can chime in. No tranny or trans case experience needed. Lol..

Ive been wanting to quit for a while, but "couldn't". A guy at work made me an offer, saying that he'll help me do it. Wasn't sure how, but he became my "motivational support". Each week that went by, that I wasn't smoking, and He and his family would invite me over to dinner. took it day by day. Next thing I knew, it was 2 weeks. Then 6, then 6 months. People at the office were cheering me on, and everyone was marking it on their calendars for each day I didn't smoke. And....here I am. Smoke free for over a year now. No more weekly dinners, as those were cut off after 5 months.

Ok. I most definitely agree. But here's a quick history on me. You just never know. Worked out on and off since highschool. Ran until knees gave out. Walked every day 5 plus miles every day, even in the rain. No seriously. Joined Planet Fitness about 16 months before my day of reconstruction. I guess you can say. I always ate for the most part, healthy. Chicken, fish, salads, greens, all the good shit. BUT....In my case. A family history of high cholesterol was ultimately my biggest enemy. The cigarettes of coarse didn't help. But plaque build up is what hurts you the most. And bad cholesterol what makes that happen. Stress of coarse is not your friend. And it does atribute to the issue.

Bottom line what I learned. Quit smoking if you do smoke. There are numerous help lines, drugs, if need be. And several safe help aides out there. Have your cholesterol check at least once a year. And again't. Try to get your stress levels down. And as aggrex stated. Just jump in your rig and just go for a ride.

Again. Every thing in MODERATION is OK. Just keep an eye on your levels. Ok....im sorry. I'll get off my soap box now.
Don't see an emogies for that. I like you guys. Wanna keep you around for awhile. :)
