Installing a mechanical cooling fan in a Grand Cherokee?

    has anyone installed a mechanical cooling fan in a 2000 Grand Cherokee 6 cyl.

    Im not very familiar with mechanical fans. But I'm sure one here is. Hang tight. Some one may chime in soon.

    Sorry, I've been at work. Anyway, the OEM fan doesn't work and I'm at a point where I'm tired of messing around with electronics. Mechanical fans worked great on my previous vehicles. So, if there is a way to install a mechanical fan I'm all for it.

    Sorry dude. I wish I could help. I've never installed a mechanical fan in a jeep. Hopefully maybe Prerunner or 2 old Jeeps may have some input. Good luck. Keep us posted.

    IMO replacing the OEM fan would be an easier diy repair than designing the mount, pulley, drive belt, etc to operate that mechanical fan assuming there is room with an inline 6 motor. Summit has a selection of aftermarket electric fans to check out.
