Where to buy a Lift Kit for my Jeep Wrangler

    1989 Jeep Wrangler YJ
    I recently purchased an 89' Jeep Wrangler YJ and I want to lift it 6 inches. I've only found 1200.00 lift kits online. Is that typical pricing for a lift kit on this Jeep. Also, should I do a body lift or suspension lift. I'm not really sure what steps to take first.

    That is what I am seeing as well, however you might look at a Spring Over Axle (SOA) lift that uses the stock leaf springs but moves the axle from being on top of the springs to below the springs. This adds about 6-6.5" lift and keeps the stock ride quality. http://www.rocky-road.com/yj-soa.html
    with that much lift you will likely need a Slip Yoke Eliminator and a new rear driveshaft.

    Howell fuel injection, header, HEI distributor, TH350, NP208, SOA lift with YJ springs in the front & GW springs in the Rear. AMC20 with G2 1 piece chromos trussed, Dana 30 with G2 chromos and 760x ujoints and MM Stainless Hubs, Geared 4.56. Tom Woods shafts, Metal cloaks, Caged, 37" Toyo MTs.
    Yep. Prerunner has it right. The SOA lift from rock road is the best lift on the market. If you are running the factory springs your ride will be excellent. Their instructions are horrible. Hope you're good at figuring out things on your own. Also you will want to run a 5 leaf factory spring pack in the front in order to prevent axle wrap and you will need to make a custom spring pack out of factory 5leaf and 4leaf to prevent axle wrap in the back. When you get to this point hit me up and I will point you in the right direction for the instructions on how to build the rear springs.
