Starting the search to replace the standard Rubicon rock rails with something that is more of a step for my son to get in and out.

    What options are out there?
    What are the good manufacturers?

Check out the nice steps that @JDMcQ used and his issue with a broken mount bolt

Ok looks like he got the JCROffroad Classic Rock Slider and had an issue with the factory bolt being cross threaded. Hopefully i dont have that problem.

After careful searchings ourselves, we found that the Tyger "Star" side steps are more to our liking.

The main draw to this type of side step is that it mounts in double point locations. As one could eventually cause body damage if there's no connecting point from the chases to the body or vice versa. Seen and heard horror stories of those who used just the chases mounted side step, flex on the trail and end up damaging the rocker panels etc.

3 inch zone lift. Fox 2.0 shocks. 35 inch nitto ridge grapplers. Bushwacker flat fenders. No name steel bumpers front and back for now.
Post up a vote poll!! If I had to choose from the ones you listed... I think I'd take the ACE rock sliders. They look good. If they only hooked up to the rocker panels then that would sway me in another direction but I like simple. You could always weld a step plate on them at a later date If the bars aren't working.

Not sure if it’s the same company but I bought some body armor for my Toyota years ago and it was a mistake. Parts were sold as new and clearly were not, missing hardware, bolts didn’t line up. It was a pain in the ass. Once again tho, not sure if it’s the same company.

Add on removable steps for the Rubicon rock rails would be awesome. Any chance they make them?

Found some N-Fab removable steps for rock sliders. Not a fit to the rubicon rock rail though.

Just one of our concerns on the Jeep, would the if the sliders have a side impact standard as it would seem a bit pointless to go with a slider or side steps that don't protect one from a side impact. Would be something that needs to be added into the decision of which side step/slider you consider.

Just purchased the classic sliders with powder coat directly from JCR. $619 to my door. 15-20 days.
