Hi gang from Jim in Oregon. I just traded my '02 Z06 Corvette for an '05 Wrangler TJ X. I sold the 33x12.5 tires and put on LT215s and polished aluminum wheels. Now I want to get rid of the lifts that the previous owner put on it and get it back to stock weight.

Looking forward to lots of fun with it and hopefully with members on here.

    Jim

Hello all. I've recently purchased a 2017 Wrangler Unlimited Hardrock, been driving it for two weeks now. I will say, I'm a little disappointed in the lack of power. I expected more. I'm already considering how to improve performance. I've been checking forums for some ideas. I welcome any suggestions.

Is it stock or has it been lifted and larger tires added.

Its stock. Haven't had a chance to do anything with it yet. Just got a winch and light bar installed today.

Let me know if you want to meet for coffee in Corvallis some time and talk Jeeps! Wife loves the baked goods from a place right off the main drag. Don't have to twist my arm too hard to go there either. Hehe.

Khaki is the best color, btw!

The RIPP supercharger is getting 400 hp to the wheel. Supercharges definitely put more strain on the motor. But it 7k and can be done in your drive way opposed to a v8 swap that's going to cost like 15k+

Yeah I've been pricing out the v8 swap and using used low mileage parts from LKQ and piecing the kit together myself from different manufacturers I think I have it down under $$10k, maybe under $9k with a little more research.

Wow just checked out the price on that Ripp system. $6000+ is a bit hard to shell out. The would be nice to have though.

DFW area emissions tests here suck if I lived 1 county north I would not have to deal with it. Also no work in 1 county north

In Texas your held to the same standards across the board. V8s are not any less "clean" than V6s; they only have 2 more cylinders burning fuel using more fuel, but the exhaust is the same. If you did a LS swap it has to be equal to or newer than the year of the jeep. If the swap is done correctly you could possibly have a better emissions test than the V6 you currently have. There are lots of swaps out there passing emissions just fine.
