    Hello,

I just put new tires on my Jeep and got a 3inch lift, its not driving the same I am not feeling the ride at the moment. I took it back to where the job was done and I found out the tires are MUD tires. Is it OKAY to drive these on the road, is this why it feels off?

    Pls give me your feedback.

    Thank you!Jeep1.jpg

Post the brand of mud tires installed for better discussion. In comparison the JK Rubicon/willys came with BFG mud terrain KM tires. Some complaints were lower performance on wet streets compared with all-terrain tires.

Probably noisier than AT / AS tires but they should be safe on the road. What is different? ride? smoothness? noise? braking/cornering? Is the tire shop willing to make an adjustment to keep you happy? If the jeep is a daily driver I would prefer AT tires but the MT have a purpose and maybe thats not for you.

Toyo is for sure a quality tire. Now you have to take them in the dirt to really get the feel of them. They would probably feel better with a quality set of shocks and a minimum amount of air pressure. The noise is an issue you are going to deal with.

JeepdeD, what brand of lift do you have? Control Arms, track bar, etc. I can tell you I have a Teraflex lift on mine and it feels good with 35X12.5 M/T's.

Oh, BTW, damn nice looking Jeep. Enjoy it!!

You all have been WONDERFUL!! thank you so much, so they aligned the car and its a lot better think that was a huge part of my ride feeling off. They are recommending Hdyro 7000 Dual Stearing Stabilizer kit to make it better so I may get that to help me some. Any thoughts on this?

The noise is not too bad as I have my hard top on, I know when I swap it out I will hear it a lot more.

With a well tuned front suspension, you should not need a steering stabilizer at all. My $.02.

Im jumpin in alil late. Good deal you figured out your issues @JeepdeD . I'm actually kinda surprised the shop you had the ties and wheels installed didn't suggest a wheel alignment. Should be a given with a lift installed.

Maybe you need to trade your Jeep in on a Toyota Prius.

Maybe some should keep their opinions to themselves. She was just asking for some information. Give her a break.

This post has really got a lot of responses for such a short period of time! Anyway I once asked a B.F. Goodrich rep on the type of tires I should use for rocky and sandy terrain. The reply was indeed the mud terrain type. So I ran thru a few sets of them until I realized that an all terrain tire was just as good on the trails that I used, even quieter. Although they just don't look as good.
