3 weeks seems far too long. A week... maybe 2. But when 3 weeks comes around I'm goin to the stealership and taking my shit back and not paying one dime.

3 weeks???? Seriously. Wow.....I'd be there in person in their face. WTF is goin on with my Jeep. Shops make money in how fast they turn around a fix. They dont make money when your Jeep just sits there. And.....they don't pick up more customers with bad reviews. If their putting quick oil changes in front of your fix. They are making money. But in the mean time. They dragging you along. If your not on their case. It's, apparently, getting pushed aside. Just my 2 cents dude.

Well - they say they are trying and now working with Chrysler. I can’t get my car to another place because it’s died there. I have a loaner car so I don’t know what else I can do. I have been calling the service manager...

Does anyone have any ideas on how best I can get my car back...? Do I need to reach out to Chrysler directly or the owner of the dealership???

Have a long discussion with the service manager and Jeep customer care. Insist on a game plan and deadline. Document and keep all documentation. Jeep has had multiple parts thrown at it and may not be in a running state. What's the use taking the jeep back to go to another dealer unless they are that incompetent. FCA/Jeep cares should be able to guide this process including finding a competent dealership. They are covering the rental, right?

The loaner is being covered by a different dealership (GM/Buick) that sold me the car.

Owner of the dealership will be your first option. Tell that individual that you are not happy with their customer service and that you want the possession of your vehicle immediately. If they keep beating around the Bush then you should talk to Chrysler. If Chrysler doesn't do anything about it then you need to contact a lawyer.

The Jeep is not running at this point. I need it fixed and getting mad or contacting a lawyer isn’t going to help me. I haven’t even really been charged yet for anything. The Game Plan and Deadline seem like the best options at this point.

This is what the service manager has told me today -
“Got a bit of bad news, your gonna need a wiring harness. That sucker ain't cheap though. Its $2,700(+)tax”

Wow......I'd get on the phone with Chrysler. It's very rare a wire harness goes bad. Like.....very rare. At this point. I'd figure out a way to get the Jeep away from that Stealership. And as mentioned. Tell them to pound stone for payment. Absolutely ridiculous. I feel for ya dude.

Ok - Update:: I picked up the Jeep today at the Stealership. They said they had it all fixed. The resolve was to switch out and put in a Brand New Wire Harness. First thing I noticed on the way home was my temperature gauge was not reading like normal...or at all. I stopped to get gas and opened the hood and then closed it back up and Temperature gauge is working. Seems to be fine now. Weird. The only other thing I noticed is the car doesn’t seem to be running as smoothly as it did before in the 10-50 mph range. Before I brought it in it seemed a little rough in the 55-65 mph range. Either way I took it out for a second test drive and it seemed a little better. So I did call the service manager to report the weird occurrence in the temperature gauge and he said it must of been a fluke. I asked him about the way it is riding and he said he test drove it himself and got it to 70 and it’s fine. Here is what I know - it’s not as smooth as it was and still in that 55-65 range it seems a little rough. If it was the old days I would say spark plugs. I asked him about if it could be the spark plugs and he said “No. you don’t need to change those until 100,000 miles.” The car is at 91,000. I asked how much to change the plugs and he said about $400. Wth!!! Thoughts anyone? This guy is a bit of an ass if ya ask me. I was very patient over the course of 6 freakin weeks...

The more and more I think about it - it seems unreal and I get a little upset!

Hope the new wire harness solves all your Jeep issues. Run it for awhile and keep notes on any unusual problems. What exactly occurs during the "doesn't seem to be running as smoothly" or "little rough". Start doing some of the maintenance items yourself like oil, air filter, tire pressure, visual inspections, etc

$400 to swap out the plugs...SERIOUSLY. How many cylinders? 6....8....??? So $50 per plug. For a spark plug that retails for about 2 bucks. And takes 40 seconds to replace. I sure hope that plug change comes with a BJ and a 6 pack. Not to mention. Your Jeep sat, not being worked on....for how long? Just my opinion dude. I'd find a new Stealership. Or a private mechanic. I really believe the service mgr. is blowin smoke where you don't want smoke to be blown.
If the new harness works out. Awesome. You've put up with enough crap.

I'm wondering if the new wiring harness and everything has the entire computer system refreshed. Maybe it just needs to be ran for a while to it can relearn itself?? When I had my wiring harness replaced in my chevy half ton it was the same way. I just drove it and eventually everything smoothed out and it ran good
