Its not just you I do not want to order my parts (guess on which one) thats what parts dpt employies are for.

WHY NOY GET THE oem PART NUMBER AND CROSS REFERENCE

GOOD AND CHEAP ARE MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE.

OK I had my curmudgeon moment - lets fix the jeep -
Before we spend your money -
YOU HAVE A 1998 jeep GRAND CHEROKEE? Which engine?
Why do you think the neutral safety switch (NSS) is bad?

No, i have a 98 jeep cherokee regular, not grand..its a limited Awd..this all happened when i blew a fuse replacing my headlight switch. Now my engine light is in, will not shift into overdrive...unless i stop, turn off and back on again..then it will only shift into overdrive for 10 secs, then goes back to 4th..so. i think its the nss because thats what all forums are telling me, especially since my reveres lights dont work
Im gonna be working on it in an hour when i get it from garage

Just took apart and cleaned the NSS..it all looked good..put it back in

    No change...
    So..
    - no reveres lights
    - engine light on
    - Will not go into overdrive unless I turn jeep on/off..start driving and it goes in OD for less then 10 secs..
    - cant communicate with computer for codes

I just order my mopar parts from https://www.jeepsareus.com/. I guess they have a customer service for questions. If that website is not trusted or they don't have customer service then don't buy from them.

I buy my parts on a budget. Seems the stores I use are O'Reilly's and Advance Auto Parts and eBay for parts. I use Harbor Freight, Lowe's, and Home Depot for cheap tools. Scrap yards when anything I need is out of budget.
