    Had to own this 78 CJ5. Bought on impulse and not disappointed. With as many birthdays as I’ve encountered I understand when you own an old Jeep you better park it close to your toolbox...

    In my CJ I carry just the minimal amount tools needed to take the thing completely apart. Along with additional tools and spare parts to fix things I have seen break. I figure if someone else can break something so can I. The best thing you can bring is another Jeep and driver.

    Envious example of the CJ5. Compared to any modern vehicle the CJ would be simple to repair on the road.

    A lot of it depends on how the vehicle was built and driven. I have seen a lot of guys put huge engines in a CJ with a drivetrain designed for a four or six cylinder engine and brag about how they break things.
