I have a 2016 JK, and I'm interested in finding LED headlights that are equal to the OEM lights in the JL models. I looked at buying the OEM's, but the price tag was outrageous ($300-$1000 EACH!). And the dealer wouldn't tell me if I could retro fit them to my JK.
From what I have been able to gather, the mounting is a little different, and then the newer lights have DRL's, which mine doesn't. I guess the plug would be different because of the DRL's.
Does anybody have any ideas for upgrades that are close to those OEM LED's?

Not the answer you’re looking for but there are plenty of LED plug&play units out there to choose from and some have heated function to deal with snow buildup. I got the JW but other brands are available like KC and for a slightly smaller budget check out the Quadratec.com
Plug&play leaves you plenty of time to properly aim the new lights.

What are JW, and KC? I have looked at Quadratec, and have some lights set aside until I make a decision, so, yes this is the answer I was looking for. Thank you.

    Hey JustBabs,
I would recommend one of our plug and play options. Our kit comes with everything you need. We offer a number of different jeep specific upgrade options some for street legal use as well as off-road.
For example here is a plug and play Fog Pocket kit that will fit a 2016 Jeep JK Squadron-R SAE Fog Pocket Light Kit Jeep 2007-2018 Wrangler JK - Baja Designs - Off-Road LED & Laser Lights | Automotive, Jeep, Truck, UTV, ADV, Dirtbike
