Air bag inflator recall

got a recall for a air bag inflator change. any one else get one. mines a 2010 4 door swport

 

FCA has been contacting me for a few years to get the air bag recall done on my 2016. The explanation is the propellant may discharge shrapnel upon discharge.

 

Same here. I refuse to bring it in. Not going to let some one tear apart my dash board. And hope they get it back together correctly.

 

well went to look at some jeeps, wound up letting them fix my recall. they changed the bag and all on the passenger sides .

 

Would it be dangerous for me not to accept the recall? Wwould be better to just leave it?

 

It would be hard to say, I just got the notice, last week. I was at the right spot, at the right time and had it done. You could Google it and probably find some info.

 

The best internet advice is to let them replace the air bag explosive device. Depending upon your luck and the quality of their work that is an important recall to consider. I have not been back to the dealer since day-1 in 2016 and prefer not to let them touch the Jeep but thats a personal decision you have to make. My Jeep has no rattles or fitment issues and a roll cage, S-Tech switches etc, that I prefer not to be disturbed.
