My 2012 JK Wrangler 3.6 engine Auto Trans. (82700 miles) has developed a tick on the left side. not very loud at all. My Local Mechanic things it is a lifter or a rocker that is worn. no loss of power or warning light has not come on. I called my local Jeep dealer, and they said the recall warranty is over as March 2022. Looks like it is all me $$ Goes to my local shop April 6th They are comfortable doing the work as needed and I trust them. My question should I drive it or park it until then??

    paid cash for it.
Hey tomrr, just catching up, and wondered how this turned out? Another guess that sprung to mind reading the thread was an exhaust manifold leak. However, by now your engine is probably completely rebuilt and purring like a kitten.

Wow things are so expensive these days but hopefully the Jeep will soldier on reliably.
When I bought my Jeep the backup plans for any engine issues were V8 conversion but that’s probably a pipe dream too…

Glad to hear the diagnosis and repair went well. Rebuilds are expensive but so are interchange engines. Just part of owning a machine. It sounds like it will be as good as new.
