My friend brought his brand-new new Rubicon out for some desert trail running and shooting. There was still a lot of water in the wash from our wet winter. On the way out, he got a bit behind me and didn't see the line I took and ended up getting stuck with water at the dop of his rear wheel wells. Those doors only keep water out for so long. He had about 4 inches of water in the cab! I winched him out, pulled the drain plugs and we were on our way. And now he has a great Jeep break-in story!IMG_0734.jpg

I deleted my previous post by mistake. Let's try again.

Wow. What an awesome read. C2T, loved reading your posts and photos were just incredible. Being new here. Every thread is Great to read. Wish I found it when I bought my XJ 14 years ago. This is not the thread I thought it was. And I'm kinda embarrassed to post my photos. But this is a trail I take to one of my favorite fishing spots here in the Pinelands of NJ. The JK still has an allergic reaction to dirt and mud. But I cured my XJ on this trail. So I thought I break in the JK on the same trail. And honestly. I did avoid the big puddles. But I had a blast.20170325_132915.jpg

Looks like a nice trail! Personally, I avoid mud like the plague. Ive replaced too many seals due to it, so I try to keep things out of it if possible.

Thanks Chris4x4. Some people look at me like i have the mommy complex. Dont get my baby dirty. Lol.
It's basically a giant circle around these lakes and ponds. It's nothing over the top. Very relaxing slow crawl ride. And some nice large mouth bass fishing. Looking to join a Jeep Club here in NJ and hit up some other trails.

Some of my most enjoyable off road rides have been on relaxing trails! I'm a little envious.

Stopped by my favorite little trail heading home from a friends. Don't get much of a chance to play with my LEDs. Pics didn't quite come out the way I thought. But still had fun. I had to make it a quick run because the park closes at sundown. And the State Police Barracks is just down the street.20170520_203716.jpg 20170520_203541.jpg 20170520_203459.jpg 20170520_203342.jpg 20170520_203245.jpg 20170520_203318.jpg
Forgot to take pics from the cabin. Next time I'm down that way.

Them suckers are fricking bright. I tried to take a shot from the front straight on. And I couldn't open my eyes to take the shot. LOL.

Just a note also. I know guys are concerned about mounting on the A Pillars and the pods reflecting off the hood. If you notice in the shots, the lights are not lighting up the entire hood. If you turn them off center some. They work great lighting up the trail and the reflection off the hood is minimal.

I enjoy the old mining trails around SW Colorado, but unfortunately we don't have much of that here in Oklahoma. Few free to run trails here, though we do have some pay to play parks. I wanted to create an experience like that of the mining trails. Now I can't do much about the scenery here, but we do have quite a few old/ghost towns, bridges, cemeteries, and the like so after spending a lot of time looking at maps and using my google fu I created the Day of Dirt Adventure. This year will be the 5th year I have run this event and currently have created 4 routes that cover anywhere from 50-90 miles each. Here are some of the pictures from the events over the year. I have a Facebook page with more pictures and some attendees have posted videos to youtube, search Day of Dirt Red Dirt Jeeps. If you are interested in the write ups/stories from previous years you can likely find them by searching my user name and Day of Dirt Adventure.
What started out with 15 Jeep in 2012 has had 75-100 Jeeps attend the last couple of years.

From a couple of weeks ago... the skies looked pretty ominous so @Rc Jeep and I drove out to the desert to play in the rain. Unfortunately, the storm passed by the time we got there. Still had a good time and caught a good sunset photo.
