    I am looking to purchase a Go Pro to record my trail adventures and wanted to see what other Jeepers are using.

    Welcome! I use a Hero 3 LCD I think. I don't buy into all the useless features, and just wanted decent 1080 video, and the ability to control it with my phone.

    Is it pretty weather proof? I was wanting to occasionally mount it to the outside of the jeep.

    I agree with Chris I use the same Go Pro and have mounted outside my Jeep . It will be fine
