I have a 93 Yj (manual trans) that currently is giving me an issue. At 30mph I get a shake with acceleration. I replaced wires and have new plugs. Also recently replaced the fuel filter. In neutral the shake is not present. The idle is normal and I have no issues until I get above 30mph durring acceleration. Where should I start?

Since it doesn't happen in neutral. Good it be a driveline issue, maybe a drive shaft. Have you recently made any changes.

Besides the tune up I mentioned nothing has been done to the jeep besides breaks a few months ago.

Since you mentioned the brakes in post #2, are the rotors warped? calipers frozen? brake pads? lugs tightened?

I've gone through them all seem to be fine. I went over them all the other day and nothing was out of place. Could a bad u joint cause a vibration like this? I'm not too familiar with this. I try to fix what I can,but I have never dealt with u joints before.

do you only feel it in acceleration? When did this start? How much lift do you have?

It is stock, so no lift, and durring acceleration only(above 30mph).

It could be that your drive shafts need new U-joints. I'm just shooting in the wind here. My idea of a failed U-joint is a broken one. They are $10 each for the non-greaseable sealed ones at Oreilly's. A Jeep weed out and only takes an hour or so to change out.

My 91 started a bad shack at 40mph turned out lost a balancing wait off one of the front rims.

I like the way you are thinking. A bad shake very well could be a weight or a tire that has belts broken and separating on the verge of a blow out. Check the obvious first the tires.
