My dog, Gunner, AKA "The Fuzz, Fuzzer, Bugs", was informed today that he has the Diabeetus. He is not amused at this news, but IS looking forward to his new diet. Evidently, it includes all the things he likes. DO you have any pets with health issues?

How does a dog get diabetes?

Does a chunky cat that sheds everywhere count as an ailment?

He has cushings disease, and evidently they can get diabetes also. He was a little fat, but we can't walk him out here due to the ground burning his feet. As for the chunky shedding cat, Yes. I think that counts, and I would prescribe a washable lint roller, and some crunches. Perhaps a couple shots of the catnip. :)

I had an epileptic dog growing up. Very scary seeing the first couple seizures before we knew what was wrong. After medication, the exact same medication used in humans he was fine. Needed medication twice a day and there was a time or two someone would forget or miscommunication. After being diagnosed and on medication he had only
Maybe 2 seizures the rest of his life.

I'd have to ask my parents. He also got bone cancer at the age of 7 and had is front right? Leg amputated. Didn't work cancer had spread and was put down maybe a year later.

Edit: found a pre peg leg photo. Here is jake the wonder dog later known as "peg leg make

Sorry to see that about your Fuzz Chris. Was going to go in another direction until I read the the entire thread. Don't have a dog now. But had 3 growing up. Just deleted like 3 paragraphs. But I can definitely relate. Lost all 3 before their time was up.

Maybe you could get him a doggie treadmill. Just a thought.:jerkoff:.

Yeah, its caused from his Cushing's disease. We just got the Cushings under control, so we are working on his diet now. If we got him a treadmill, he'd probably just let himself drag on it.

Not saying who the treadmill really is for but perhaps turning the speed down for short spans while it's Fuzz's turn to work out might help
