Hey guys. I've got a 2014 Cherokee latitude and I've been looking for a roof rack for it. I don't have lots of money so I'm trying to find something affordable. Any suggestions are much appreciated. Also, any thoughts on a 2 inch lift? Thanks guys. Happy jeeping

Cherokee. Latitude. Definitely taking some getting use to. I've had an 89 and a 95. The new ones are way different

I have always had roof racks (I have a beat up set of Yakimas now) rather than baskets. I find them more versatile than baskets. I have two sets of J-Hooks, a cargo box and ski racks that I can mix and match. My $0.02.

As far as your lift. You can do a spacer lift. Their spacers you install between the coil spring and frame. But keep in mind. If you don't have adjustable track bars and control arms. Your going to have to swap out the track bars. And at the very least, install control arm relocation brackets to keep your factory ride.

I believe his Cherokee is IFS and all the above statements don't apply. I was not aware of a mass produced 2 inch lift. I've seen a few one off customs that were very pricey. The trail hawk is almost 2 inches taller than the latitude. Maybe the parts are interchangeable.

Oops. :anonymous: Honestly. Didn't search lifts for his Jeep. Thanks for doing the research OFFGRID. Forgot to take my Meds tonight. Lol.

Just thought Jeep used the same coil spring and a similar frame on most of their rigs. I assumed some thing I shouldn't have. Thanks for pointing that out. Thank you Peter.

It's all good. I have misspoke on here too. I don't like giving wrong information especially when it could cost someone money and time. I really think about what I write here before I start typing hence my serious persona. I'm really bright and happy.

Only reason I know this, is one of my CJ buddies just bought a trail hawk and we did extensive research on finding a lift. He said he thought Daystar had a 2 inch lift, but We never could find that to be so. There is a company called Dakar that did extensive research and their cost on a 2 inch lift was $2500 in materials not counting labor and developement. They said it was doable, but the cost they would have to sell it at priced it out of market. Nobody would pay $4k for a 2 inch lift. Rocky road said the same thing. Again there are some people out there doing it on there own. I've read their builds on other forums. I'm not that good.

I agree with you JKBOB. I would think if you can put a 6 or 9 in lift on a chevy (IFS) for 2500 that you could do the same for the cherokee, but I understand the issue on the cherokee becomes getting the tires back in allignment whether it is a 2in or a 9in lift. I read another company put a 9 in lift and 35s on the cherokee. It was sweet looking. They said it cost them $12K to do the lift. People are trying to make it happen, it is the IFS that is throwing everbody off. I'm thinking it would be cheaper to junk the whole drive line and swap in an older cherokee drive line. You would have to be efficient at welding though.

Chris4x4. I said "quoted" myself. Not fornacate myself. Are you off your Meds again. o_O

OFFGRID. You are much more knowledgeable than I am when it comes to lifts, among others things. And I tip my cap to you. I am constantly learning from you with your posts. :hattip:. And I'm sure you'll learn me more , as well other members here, in the future.

    Sorry....i like using emogies. :burp:

Whoa! What I missed? Who did whom? Idolatry with one's jeep is cool. Lifting said cherokee would be a special one-off vehicle and the envy of others. Just do it!

My WK has IFS and it seems the lift options are somewhat limited in comparison with other Jeep models. But, there is nothing for the new Cherokees, which is a common complaint. They're a slick rig, that's a fact, but there is little aftermarket available for them.

Maybe try and see if any of the Toyota companies are making anything. All 4 runners tacomas and tundras are ifs and they seem so to fine with a 2-3" lift. Toytec or icon or someone.

Give it time. I see a lot of them on the road. Some one will start producing after markets parts I'm sure. Wouldn't even doubt if it's in the R & D stages now. Hang tight dude. I'm sure help is on the way.
