No power

I have a 1994 jeep Cherokee . I went to start it the other morning and turned the lights on and tried to start it at the same time, and the next thing I know, I have no power to the jeep. please help

 

yes , the fuses under the dash and in the engine next to the battery . are there fuses else where

 

Definitely sounds like a fuse issue.

 

Is the battery any good?

 

As with most vehicle issues this symptom can be caused by a variety of problems.

Does your inside light still come on when you open the door? (basically...is anything still getting power at all or is it just the items attached to the ignition switch not working?)



Personally, I would be checking on the battery. I would pull, clean and re-tighten the battery posts. Sometimes it is as simple as that.

Chris was right to point to fuses. In the PDC, fuse number 6 (a red 50 amp fuse) is the ignition switch fuse.


If you have a multimeter handy, you can check the voltage on the battery.
NOTE: If you have less than 12 volts you have an issue with the battery (this includes terminal cables needing attention) or alternator. HOWEVER...If you are at 12 volts, the DOES NOT mean there is not an issue with the battery or charging system as you still may not have enough amperage.

If none of this works you can take your battery to the local car parts store and most will test the battery for free and it will be eliminated or not as the issue.

would to thank everyone who replied to this post . Problem solved and fixed . So I tested my battery , and it was not pulling a full charge . I had another larger battery in my shed and used it to see if I had any lights , and bingo .
I went to my auto store got me a new battery , (senses mine was only 10 months old ), came home cleaned everything up and it cranked over .
