new stock : new aftermarket: water pump edelbrock head w/ springs and valves thermostat aluminum radiator radiator hose's double roller timing chain and gears heat pump hose stage 1.5 cam kit (from 505 performance) transmission hose firepower distributor cap and wires coil clutch fan
Okay i have been wracking my brain and can not find the reason why it keeps overheating. i have changed to an aluminum radiator , replaced the upper and lower radiator hose (they ballooned and burst), fan clutch, water pump ( it had bent fins), and thermostat. We found the head was warped and replaced that with an edelbrock head w/springs and valves (hoping the aluminum would help it cool faster), and all the gaskets for the upper have been replaced as well.

i have looked at exploded views of the cooling system and can not find anything else that would affect the problem, but i still over heat when stuck in traffic, or sit idle.
if anyone has an idea so to what i am missing please help.

Just a few check points that can be done in the driveway: new 50:50 mix coolant, right? correct thermostat for the yr+motor?, thermostat installed upside down?, faulty fan clutch? (check for proper engagement) and lastly coolant passages blocked in engine?
