While we are on the topic of not caring. . . I do a lot of work in elementary schools. I go where I am needed. I have noticed that during morning announcements and the pledge to the flag that nobody stops and pays homage. Teachers, students, admin etc they all ignore it like nothing is being said. In fact when I stop and face a flag and say the pledge of allegiance people look at me like there is something wrong, and rarely someone else will see me and the copy my actions. This one thing could bring together America, yet the kids today are not being taught to respect anything including the their country. In a country being torn apart by politics and a political agenda breeding racial prejudice, and with all of the differences of culture and former nationalities; the one thing we all have in common is that we are now Americans, and this one thing we can all come together on despite out differences. IMO paying respects to the flag is showing love for our country despite what we thing about the government and those in office. On this Pearl Harbor Day, Thank you to all of our veterans and current soldiers for your service.

It saddens my heart. I served. And I frankly don't care for the thanks that I get. I am lucky I didn't have to serve at time of war.
I do however work in a industry were I deal with elderly men. The very generation that made the WORLD a safer place. I cry to think about what they sacrificed along with those that serve now. We sleep in the most free nation/country on this little blue marble. And a nation that stands divided by their freedoms.

God bless those before me and those that follow for carrying the burden of keeping this nation free and safe. Not a easy job, BUT THEY ARE MY HEROS! And forever, they will stand as great people, and the greatest this nation has.

Just spent more time in a Taco World forum than I ever thought I would. And thank you @chris4x4 for posting the links. I did not serve. But my Dad was a Tin Can Sailor. You Navy Vets will know the term. And he was VERY proud of that. Anyway. So i was proud of him. And I love this pic Chris 4x4 posted.....in another site. Apparently...I can't post it here. In words. An American Flag flying with the home owner holding what appears to be....An AK47. Protecting it. Good for him.

But I had a similar experience. Put up a flag on the 4th a 2 years ago. Came out the next morning, and found it in my driveway. Some f--king kid, who doesn't get it. Decided they were going to tear it down. And honestly, haven't put it back up. Figured I don't need to display my patriotism, to have some douche bag disrespect it.

And back to another post by @OFFGRID. He stopped for the National Anthem. And people looked at him like.....whatever.
What happened to this country??? ......o_O

Wow....9 years. Is it me. ??? But it seems like its gotten worse in this country. These kids just don't get it. And I'm sorry. But I do blame it on the system....And the parents.

I clearly remember as a kid in School. Standing up, right hand on my heart. Saying the Pledge of Allegiance. So my question is. What is politically accepted these days? I just don't get it. What happened??? Where did we go wrong??? Yeah....i know. Not really looking for an answer. Just bitching.

Ok....I'm going umm...OFFGRID here. But when did we have to put up walls like that? I remember when we could sleep with our, well, our Grandparents could. With the front door open. You do that Now. It's an invitation to a home invasion.

I live in a Condo community, and the wall is the perimeter of the property. It was built in the 70's, so maybe these idiots started it?

With snow like that they are likely keeping him around incase they get hungry. On a real note I belong to a Family oriented 4x4 club called Southern High Rollers here in Houston. We don't differentiate. The only requirements are that you have a 4x4 and pay the dues which get donated at the end of every year to a battered childrens home. A love for our sport is great common ground to come together on no matter what offroad vehicle you drive.

Most of our overland treks have a good portion of Yotas.

When i first saw it. I thought it was @Bob pic with his Taco. Was happy to see he finally found a herd that accepts him. Than realized it was a generic pic. :(. Let's hope Bob finds a herd soon.
