03 GC Laredo 6cyl. Was out running around and after one our stops, it started hard and was idling rough. Drove home OK except I noticed the check engine light was on. Did the ignition code check and came up p0303. Googled it and its cylinder 3 misfire. What would cause that? And how do I fix it?

OK. Seems easy enough. thanks for the info. Now. Will the check engine light being on for the misfire cause it to fail a NY state inspection?

My code reader will clear codes. Does yours give you that option? If not I bet Oreilly's will do it for you.

Dang Aggrex! You have all of the good information. I saved this to my files. I probably just gave you the key to my life.

Depending upon how intense your state inspection is clearing the code may or may not help as the code may be in the history file or with your luck the intermittent issue crops up again just in time during the inspection. A mechanic friend mentioned there is a way around this but the right thing to do is to fix the underlying problem(s).
