Hey guys this is my first jeep. Got a 73 cj5 but I’m having trouble finding an coilover spring conversion kit that’ll fit my model. Want to eliminate the leaf springs. Any ideas?

I have never seen a coil over spring kit for a CJ. Only YJs. The only way I know would be to find a TJ axles with all the linkages and order TJ Buckets as well as any other mounting hardware like track bar and shock mounts from a company like Rough Stuff, and weld it in yourself.

I am not sure where you are located, but Ironman4x4fab in Hayesville North Carolina might be able to help you out. They say they do YJ products and the CJ isn't too much different. They also make customer control arms. Might not hurt to give them a call. https://www.ironman4x4fab.com/contact-us

Also I found that GenRight offers a TJ/YJ/CJ front and rear link kits. They only do 3 link fronts from what I could tell, I would personally rather have a 4 link.
    https://genright.com/products/suspension/3-link-4-link-kits/?sort=featured&page=1

You might look at linking the front and going with different leaf springs in the back.
Deaver springs are thicker packs but made up of thinner leaves: https://www.deaverspring.com/
Or Alcan who springs are made to order: http://www.alcanspring.com/index.htm

If I have too! I may end up fabbing my own brackets and making something work. I’ve heard a lot about Ironman in other posts tho. I’ll check that out, thanks

Welcome to the forum. @Rorky77s. Wow....for a 73. Looks really clean.

Imsee you met a few of our more knowledgeable members. @OFFGRID is probably our best CJ guy here. @Prerunner1982, very knowledgeable also when it comes to jeeps and over mechanics.
Umm this member @chris4x4. Yeah sorry. We apologize for him. Every family has one. You know, the one family member that well.....I'll leave it at that. But he's ok. Just don't pet:boink: or provoke him. Loll.

When you let your CJ out of her cage. We love to see more pics and progress with her. Best of luck. And welcome again.

Found it. Daves customs unlimited makes a 3 link front 4 link rear kit for all CJs to be used with either coil springs or coil overs. https://davescustomsunlimited.com/

Only big issue with linking CJ's is that the frame is pretty wide, this means that a coil spring or coilover is pretty hard to fit between the tire and the frame unless you have swapped to a full width axle or some crazy backspace wheels on CJ widetrack axles. What motor does your Jeep have in it? V8 Jeeps are rough to fit upper links and clear motor and frame.
