Someone gave me this pair of front and rear ends. Not knowing exactly what I have my question is: are these worth possibly swapping to my 82 cj? They were not clean enough to take good pics so I wrote down what was legible. I'm going to swap the spring setup and wondered if these would be an upgrade. My current gear cases work fine. If it is a worthwhile upgrade what other mods do I need to do? Thanks, again20180205_211540-1.jpg

Howell fuel injection, header, HEI distributor, TH350, NP208, SOA lift with YJ springs in the front & GW springs in the Rear. AMC20 with G2 1 piece chromos trussed, Dana 30 with G2 chromos and 760x ujoints and MM Stainless Hubs, Geared 4.56. Tom Woods shafts, Metal cloaks, Caged, 37" Toyo MTs.
Please shoot a picture of the pumpkin so we can see the bolt pattern. Do you know what the axles came out of?

Looks like you have a Dana 30 front and Dana 35 rear out of a YJ likely 4.10 gears. The front won't work on your CJ. The Differential is on the wrong side I believe. Your AMC 20 in the rear of your CJ is much stronger than the Dana 35. Better off to stick with what you have.

Again pictures to confirm. Something like this.

This is one of them. I was told they both came out of a Jeep. Pretty sure he said YJ. he had a Willys he was going to swap them into. Decided he'd just sell the jeep instead. Long story really but since he just gave them to me I wanted to see if they would be useful or just need to sell and spend the money on... more stuff for my jeep... what else? Thanks always for all the help guys. Is there a "classifieds" page on this forum?20180205_151811.jpgd

The front is a High Pinion Dana 30 and the back is a Dana 35. Sell them both. They front axle has a spit shaft to engage 4x4 and the switch is run off of vacuum. There are some upgrades for this to eliminate the need for vacuum. For The money it would cost to make those viable trail worthy axles (if they could ever be considered that) you could probabley find a set of one tons to go under your jeep. From the tags you posted earlier I believe they have 4.10 gears in them ( I'm guessing). If so you could get $200-300 for them in a quick sell and maybe hold out for $400 a little longer. For those wanting to stay stock and regear to 410s this is a coveted cheaper way to do by swapping in somebody elses axles. Your CJ axles are better.
