Fuel tank straps?

    I have a 1999 jeep grand cherokee it has the brush guard on it and it is rusted out and i just got this jeep they have the 3 dollar roll of fuel tank strap holding it up but i dont want it to fail or rub a hole in the tank does it have fuel tank straps and this cage or not and how can i fix it and or get rid of the cage thanks in advance

    Hey Hamster welcome to the forum.

    I had a hard time following your post, perhaps a picture would help (if you posted one sorry, it was likely blocked by my works firewall).
    However, if I understand you are asking about fuel tank straps. Your local AutoZone should have them for about $32 a pair.

    Welcome! If the brush guard is rusted out, replace it or simply leave it off. Running around on $3 fuel tank straps is not a great idea. Immediately replace the $3 straps with the correct OEM metal straps as that generation had a reputation for fires after a rear end collision. The GC '93-'98 had a recall that used an NHTSA-approved trailer hitch to strengthen the rear end in case of a collision.

    Huh....??? Yeah same here @Prerunner1982. But yeah.....agree with aggrex. Don't use cheap ass parts on your Jeep. Its a Jeep. Not a Pinto. Lolll.
