Bought Smitty Bowless Combo Top for 2004 Wrangler X. Front crossbar seems too long. Cannot put on top. Anyone put on this top. I have the OE door surrounds and took off the bow. Don't know what to do. Any suggestions.

Thanks. Quadratec and Smittybilt were as helpful as a porcupine in a balloon factory. Seriously. I managed to get the top on after much reconfiguring and remembering some old good advice from years ago when I first bought the Jeep. It fits, and looks good BUT

After putting on the new windshield channel and connecting the top to the channel, and the top looking to fit snugly all around, there is one problem.

When I hit 50MPH, It sounds like I am going through a wind tunnel. The sound seems to be coming from the windshield channel area, but everything fits tight and there is no wind leaking through the top and into the Jeep. I was thinking of putting some kind of installation between the top and the channel, or maybe FlexSeal, but then I got hold of my senses and thought I should get some advice from you guys on the forum.

Any ideas what may be causing the loud wind noise and what can be done to eliminate the noise. Thanks.

I've read that you need to close zip or lock it tightly so no air whistles would come through. Do you have a flush match between the header and the top? The windshield header channel is used to properly mount the front of the top so make sure yours is tight. There should be no dirt, debris, rust or anything like that.
Anyway, did Smittybilt replace the front crossbar?
