Ignition, actual key insert area broke. it turns but does not ingage starter . Don’t know if I’m explaining this well lol. Basically a few months ago I had an issue starting my jeep. We realized if I turned it to just the right area it would catch and start . Now I don’t have the sweet spot anymore. Im trying to figure out if anyone else has ever experienced this and if so were you able to replace it yourself or did you have to take it in?

Hello Beth and welcome to Jeeps.net.

It sounds like it could be the key lock cylinder but may perhaps be the ignition switch losing the contact for the start position.
An aftermarket ignition switch is about $35, a dealer part may be more around $60 (just a guestimate).

Welcome to the forum @bethb1. Let's us know how you make out. Prerunner1982 is on a roll. I'd trust his fix.
