my headlights are acting goofy.........goofy as in they won't turn off immediately. Might it have a headlight delay? if so, it's not delaying the same amount of time each time I turn them off.

a sticking relay would explain my symptoms.......if it's sticking "on".

    thanks!

Relays are cheap, so you could replace it and see if it fixes any issues

It does have a delay'd turn off, but I do not believe it has a relay due to the fact that even with the headlight switch off (ignition switch on) there is still 7.72 volts going to the headlights. The power to the headlights runs through the switch and causes a voltage drop by the time it gets to the headlights.

Aftermarket headlight harnesses that include relays are a popular add on and can increase the output of even stock headlights as the power runs straight from the battery to the lights.

Yes, if your jeep was equipped with it. It is bolted to the instrument panel on the drivers side, underneath the panel under the steering column ( knee blocker). Good luck -

Here is some diagrams to look at. I would disconnect the module and try the light if not you will have to bypass the module. Good luck

    so, I figured it out.

if I leave the key on, the lights turn out immediately. If I turn it off, it activates a delay.

    thanks for the diagram!

Hey Mikey, it's prolly like mine and if you turn the jeep off before you shut off your lights it'll turn on the delay once you shut off lights. So i shut off my lights to parking lights, once i stop, then shut key off, then my parking lights and then my headlights come back on for delay. .

your headlights do not have a relay. The power to the headlights goes through the switch, so a headlight harness like the lmc one would be a good buy(takes about 30 minutes to install). I have installed about 6 or so. You should see the improvement immediately.
