Hey guys I’m new to forums but just looking for some advice. I’ve got a 96 Jeep Cherokee Country 4.0 that I’ve recently purchased. It has a new fuel pump, fuel filter, CPS, plugs, wires, cap, button, coil. I think that’s everything, but here’s my problem. It just recently started to bog down and not won’t to take fuel after driving it a few miles. It spits and sputters over 2k RPMS but only while driving. You can stop and put it in neutral or park and it takes all the fuel you want to give it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome! I had an issue like this years ago, and it was the vacuum advance not working. Have you check the vacuum lines?

3 inch zone lift. Fox 2.0 shocks. 35 inch nitto ridge grapplers. Bushwacker flat fenders. No name steel bumpers front and back for now.
I was thinking the O2 sensors and the CAT. The vacuum lines would be a good start. Maybe the MAF sensor is dirty??

I checked vacuum lines and everything looked good so I checked fuel pressure next. It was great idling but under heavy load it dropped way down. Guess I didn’t clean the tank good enough after changing fuel pump and fuel filter. I changed filter on the rail again and all seems ok at the moment. I’m sure the pump may need changing again soon. Next time I’ll be a little more thorough. Thanks for the help guys!
