I have an unusual electrical problem, would like to see if anyone has or has had a similar problem. The rotary switch on the turn-signal stalk that controls the dash board lighting intensity and the dome light has quit working. Also, the lights in the 3 HVAC knobs flicker and sometimes go off. I think these problems started at the same time, so probably are related. I have not found any blown fuses. The dealer wants $270 to diagnose the problem. Any ideas out there?

2007-2010 model years have a recall to fix the clockspring wiring connector in the steering column. If yours falls within those years I would check to see if the recall has been completed before I did anything else.

Go to recalls.mopar.com to see if yours is affected, you'll have to enter your VIN #.

There was a big clock spring recall for the Jeep Wranglers.
    .......
Jeff beat me to it, as I was typing.

Thanks, guys. My Jeep is a 2011. Checked the recalls, anyhow, and found none.

Back on this clock spring recall, will it affect the dimmer switch on the interior lights? Last wheeling trip my interior lights were stuck in the on position no matter what position the switch is in. I pulled the bulbs for now.

First thought I would NOT associate the clockspring with these lights.
If I have a wiring diagram I will add later,

Clockspring - SRS light, Horn inop, cruise issue, steering wheel mounted controls...
    Attaching TSB for reference -
