Hello everyone, new member. Just picked up a 2018 jk. Just basic set up, want to put wheel locks on and was wondering if anyone has any preferred brands. Thanks.

Welcome! I've used McGard wheel locks for years with no issues. Register the key, always return the key back to secure location and don't let tire service techs damage them. Surface rust comes off easily with some chrome polish. Wheel locks serve as theft deterrent or at least slows them down a bit. Others may find them a hassle but stolen spares are not cheap. Sets are available in 5's which works out for Jeeps.

Didn't your JK come with wheel locks? I recently installed a lift on a 2018 JK and it had factory wheel longs on it. The owner had already lost the lock. I can usually get a wheel lock off with either a pipe wrench or channel locks with little effort. These were the hardest I have ever had to take off. Took me almost over an hour to get them off.

No mine did not come with locks. Yes I know the Jeep dealer has sets for sale but I try not to buy directly from the dealer being that they over price everything.
Hey Aggrex do you happen to know the part/model number for the McGraw locks?
    Thanks for the help guys.

The JLs are not listed on the McGard website yet as the aftermarket is working feverishly to catch up. Perhaps contacting McGard or ponying up at the dealership. I think McGard makes many of the OEM wheel locks as the locks, packaging, registration look very similar.

Well I bought a 1/2x20 pack of mcgaurds. 2017 can’t be so different than 2018 right?

If its a 2018 JK it should fit but the 2018 JLs reportedly had a stud size change so don't force them if there is resistance.

Well they fit perfectly. Couldn’t find the 5 pack for the spare tire. I will try to shoot Mcgard an email and try to get an extra lug.

Great ....first mod done. Amazon has the 5-pack which might be more cost-effective than direct from McGard but check it out and let us know what you find out.
