Hey guys, i picked up a set of stock Sahara wheels 18” with tires used for a good price. My issue is there are slight scratches on the polished parts. Mostly from storage no curb damage. How would I be able to get those out? Not sure if these are clear coated. Any way to hand polish the scuff/scratch out? Thanks in advance.

Most likely clear coating on the wheels otherwise they would oxidize over time.

Damn. Anyone think that if I do a light clear coat respray would it hide some of the scratches? You know take off the painted parts along with the tire itself. I’ve painted body panels before with basic paint supplies maybe I can fix this.

Theres a video on how to remove light scratches only involving the clear coat on body panels. They sanded the area with 3000 to 5000 grit sand paper depending upon how deep the scratch was into the clear coat before refinishing. On some of your lighter scratches a clear coat respray might be enough or you could just ignore them. Test your skills on a scrap painted panel or wheel. Local dealership has a wheel repair guy who charges $100 per wheel to refinish.
