MC real axle geometry

    I've considered Metal Cloak's 3.5 dual rate rocksport suspension package, but there is really nothing in the kit that addresses the rear axle. A rear track bar bracket comes with it, but all stock control arms are used (with no bracket)with the exception of the front uppers are adjustable. Just curious if any of you have that, or have used that kit.

    The more complete MC kit has 8 adjustable control arms. Otherwise you will likely need to buy the geometry correction bracket .

    They say they aren't necessary. Unlike some other companies out there, I do put more stock in what they say, but I don't know how the rear axle geometry stays within parameters with offering nothing more than a rear trac bar bracket and stock control arms. I inquired about purchasing the brackets but they say just use stock control arms with a 3.5 lift until I can purchase the rear MC adj control arms.

    Just wondering if anyone else has ran a lift like this retaining stock rear control arms without drop brackets.

    IMO you could install your MC kit and run it as they described. If you need extra correction the Rancho one-piece geometry brackets are not too expensive.

    Thanks. I'm always up for a good price point. Hopefully it won't be needed, but I just don't see how they can't be needed.

    @jeepavalanche ....I was bz at work when I posted and now read that your concern was primarily the rear geometry. MC states this kit is their most basic option but includes adjustable front upper control arms for caster. On the website they say this kit was designed to work with the rear stock control arms so you should be good to go with the option of buying better control arms later. Post up your build as I'm sure it will be interesting.

    My experience with using factory control arms is that the ride is a little more stiff or jarring when hitting good bumps. MC is very reputable. If on a budget, install the lift as they describe. See if it is acceptable to you (many people can't tell a difference). If not then look into the adjustable control arms when you have the extra cash.

    I appreciate the responses. My plan is to get the 3.5 MC true dual rate rocksport package, procomp d window 51 series 17X9 wheels with 4.25 backspacing, and BFG 35 X 12.5 r17 tires. All in all, about #3,600.00. Somewhere, sometime, there will be funds for the rest of the 6 control arms, new rear track bar, and draglink. Yeah, even on an entry level suspension package, J-E-E-P. $$$$$$. Even stock, there is nothing like a jeep wrangler!!!

    In my opinion MC's and Teraflex's entry level suspension packages outshine other's top packages.

    No doubt in terms of quality. I have known right away I wanted MC. Heck, i even like the gold control arms and trac bars, and i dont like those colors on anything else, but they make it look great.

    Very interesting read. I picked up a few interesting points. I'm eventually going to replace my puck lift with an adj. Arm lift. Good read.

    Absolutely!!! Been the most enjoyable vehicle I have ever owned. I've had transam ttop (LS1 350 motor), 76 Ltd with Cleveland 351, dodge Daytona (Turbo), grand am GTP (supercharged), all fairly capable vehicles that were fun. Now they all seem dull compared to my stock Jeep which is a humble 2008 JKU, so I can't imagine how all the lifted and built Jeepers must feel.
