Can someone please help me find the Jeep cap those fits in the center of the steering wheel! Thanks

 

What was your tool of choice to cut the metal as it looks contoured, even and very straight?

 

Think any of these Ebay choices would work ?

 

So the long cuts (basically left to right/up and down) were done by the factory where I purchased the metal from because it comes from CHINA in huge sheets. However for the little cuts here and there I used a reciprocating saw with a steel blade. After I made the cuts I filed it down so I would cut my fingers off on the sharp edges. I'm actually putting together a how to right now that might answer some more of your questions.

Be a neat $5-6 addition to the steering wheel if it fits.

Great DIY tutorial for rear storage in the YJ. Once you get the rear section welded it should be even tougher. I probably don't have those metal working skills or definitely the time but I appreciate your video. My order from QT last week arrived today so like you I got some trunk security for my 2dr JK.

 

Awesome man, glade you got to watch the video. Yeah having some storage is a must it seams like. There is never a reason not to have some junk in the trunk!

 

I took @boondoc89 advice and painted to shinny parts to match. I think it looks much better. Just adds a bit of fit and finish to the project. Let me know what yall think.

Thanks bud, Yeah I was thinking it looked like something a biker grandma would wear on her boots lol. While I was down there I noticed the majority of screws holding the dash in place were missing so I added those and man, what difference in how the wheel feels without everything shacking.

 

So, ever since I got the Jeep I have noticed it was a little squirrely on the road. When I would let off the gas it felt like the axles were going to roll right out from under you and would lean to the left. Also when I let off the gas she would lean to the left really bad and start to swerve left. I ended up having some extra time yesterday so I deiced to crawl under the Jeep with a few sockets and some wrenches. To my astonishment the U-bolts that hold the axle to the leaf springs were almost finger tight!!!! All the track bars were about to fall off along with multiple other nuts and bolts! I strongly believe that If I had not discovered this issue the results could have been much worse. The good news is the jeep rides incredible now hahahha Feels like a completely different vehicle.

Whats going on yall? Hope everyone had a good Memorial Day. I have been working on the sxs and Jeep and both are looking pretty good. I created a little tailgate latch since mine doesnt have one and I hate how it just swings open. Ill put a video out soon. Let me know what yall think.

 

Had to do the unthinkable and put the top and doors on today because of possible hurricane coming. Its been raining for a week strait and just had a few mins of sunlight. I have been itching to drive her. Everything went on pretty good for as old as it is. Lets just say it doesnt seal up perfectly lol. Let me know what yall think.

 

Consider loosening a floor drain plug in anticipation of water entry or use a tarp when parked.

 

Very cool rig. Yea I'd say toss a tarp over it when you put it up and strap the hell out of it.
