Glad to hear you were able to stop the TJ okay. I've become a big advocate of having brake lines inspected especially on older vehicles. I replaced my brake lines using the more expensive cu-ni lines which are rust-proof, more flexible and easier to use than any brake line on the market.

Hmm...if the TJ is your only ride...but the break is in a bad spot to consider splicing a new section across better parts of the old line (temporarily). It's best to replace the whole line followed by replacing all the lines. Parts stores may lend a crappy but serviceable flaring tool but cu-ni will make your job much easier.

Agreed. Copper brake lines are the way to go. If one is broke you might as well replace all of them and get it done and over with. One of my best friends does brakes for a side job and he flat out keeps telling me to replace all the brake lines with cu-ni because they don't rust and rot due to the elements. If you live in the rust/salt belt then theres no reason why you shouldn't spend the cash to make sure you got a solid braking system on your rig. I'm happy to hear you didnt plow into somebody when your brake lines blew. I had that happen on my jeep one day. It's a scary scary feeling when it all goes down.

Thank you all for the advice ... to cleaify I know I’m going to replace them all but was looking for ideas to what kind/type and you’ve helped with that and for that I thank you all!
Luckily with it being a stick shift tj I was able to stop by downshifting and actual drive it safely back to my house by downshifting aswell to stop. And it happened at 5am so there wasn’t Barry anyone on the road at that time and that’s why I drove it back. It’s not my primary vehicle it’s 3rd so no biggie on timeline but will fix in next couple of weeks.
