Wife wants to get the sky one touch power top for her 2018 jeep JL.
It comes with a price tag of $4k. Ouch.

Not sure when availability is or if I really want to spend that much. She wants to keep the hard top for the winter so I would have to figure out storage. Doesn’t like going topless in the summer because weather in Colorado is so unpredictable that she would end up getting the interior wet.

    Thoughts???

Are there after market options or only the new OEM one?

Beststop has a soft top option that easily flips open designed to replace the freedom panels for the JK that may be available soon for the JL. Selling the hard top would help recoup expenses for the SKY top. From the pics the SKY looks to be well integrated and not designed to be easily removed every spring. As innovative as the SKY top may be I'm a bit concerned about keeping the track clean of debris or mud and expense to replace a damaged top.

I think the price is inline. A lot of aftermarket tops go for around that, or more.

Just bought my wife a Sahara that came with one from the factory. She loves it! Went with that option since I work out of town and she wanted to be able to take the top off by herself. Also comes with rear window panels that come off really easy.

I love it only 4k wow - don't forget the heated seats and steering wheel, they have a gray poupon cup holder option to die for, check out these color coordinated streamers for the antenna. or An aftermarket wine chiller, Maybe a reserved spot at the galleria. this is what jeep is all about.

Some think its a utility tool - offroad getting to hunting, fishing, camping, beach areas, mud, dirt sand, the smell of camp fires, beer cooling in the stream, dents scratches stories of adventure and the occasional broken finger nail.

    I'm going fishing, I need a break

Got anymore of those streamers @Awrench maybe some cards for the spokes in my wheels? We could ride down the street hollaring WHEEEE. Lol I don't even wash my Jeep driven in the rain topless ...yes it sucks but it's a Jeep! The rest of the summer topless makes up for it

Rather be wet in a Jeep then dry in anything else

I think it’s a great option for the right scenario. Sounds like it would make a lot of sense for you. I wouldn’t option one on my own Jeep, but then again my current Jeep only has a bikini top so I’m a bit of a masochist like that. It for someone who rock a hard top most of the time, but wants the option to go “topless” on a nice day, it seems like a great option even with the added cost.

Have to run the detailer is coming to wax my jeep. It has to cool in the shade first for a better buffing.
    Anyway the mall is closed.

PS - trout were small BUT fishing.
God does not deduct from a man's allotted span the hours spent fishing

I am a Sales Manager at a Jeep Dealership in Va, and the power top is worth it we can not seem to keep them in stock. Plus the look of the side panels and doors off is amazing.

NO 4000$ sorry it is not worth it*, it may be selling, worth implies a value. This is a classic Dilbert these features do not improve the product. Jeep is a tool, utility, not a fashion statement but the sales prove me wrong, got to go the mall is opening.

ANYWAY welcome bistro hope you enjoy the camaraderie :jeepwave:

I am in a small humble part of Virginia, Loudoun county - anywhere near you?

    * I see a service manager loving it, Ca Ching.

Thank you, I appreciate the warm welcome. Yes i am in Winchester Va at Safford Auto
It is funny how Jeep has went from being a bare tool to now a pavement pounder that is now a family vehicle. But still can do all the off road features

I stayed in Winchester for months on business*, If you are not aware a great area, you are lucky.

Is there a business opportunity for a authorized dealer doing mods? Lifts, tires, wheels, upgrading audio, all while selling 'the wont affect warranty' umbrella ?

    * wife's company sent her there, me I fished trout. Someones gotta do it.
