I'm sitting at about 30 at idle and 60 at roughly 3k rpm 70 mph is that much fluctuation normal? I buried her yesterday in a creek so I dunno if I'm being paranoid but I gave her hell for about 2 hours trying to get out.. so.. any help would be great.

what was the pressure readings before getting stuck?

Might want to check oil level, appearance and do a oil change and filter to be safe...

Reqdings were roughly the same just a bit higher and lower.. sort of confuses me, I could see high pressure if it's loaded with oil at idle and high at high rpm.. but wouldn't it do the same with low level oil? I think I'll just change everything this weekend and hope for the best.

Could a little bit of water in the oil make that happen??

I was thinking the same... Gonna change the oil this weekend.. as of now it's not a huge fluctuation so I'm not terribly worried but it isn't normal for my Jeep.

I guess something out of the norm should be addressed sooner than later. I'm not really educated on a lot of motor related issues but I can probably get by with some good ol fashioned redneck macgyver type shit till I talk to somebody who really knows what's goin on hahaha. I'm that guy that bribes people with food and beer for fixing my shit lol. More beer than food but it usually works out for everybody in the long run

Only you know to what extent "you buried her in the creek" and "gave her hell for about 2 hours" really was.. I would not hesitate to change the oil+filter asap, inspect the air filter and exhaust systems for mud, water, debris that may havecontaminated fluids. If the axles were submerged above the axle breather hoses thats another area to inspect. I'm sure it was fun..

yes water is a big evil. appearance would be evident in the fluids OIL P/S Trans (auto)
water in oils would have some 'tells' the level on dip stick would be up duh -
there would be a color change easiest to see- a coffee with cream color a latte shade of that ain't right.

I ASSUMED you did get an eyeball on the oil level? And your can wait till weekend oil change ratcheted down the priority.

But your being USAF and its a jeep positive thinking...

did you go 4 wheeling alone?

I would change the fluid in the front diff, even though the breather may be above water the ends of the axles tubes were submerged for a while. Would do the back too if it was also submerged.
