Might want to check the brake fluid level in the master cylinder then look for external leaks from brake lines(rusty?/weeping?), calipers and wheel cylinders. Brake fluid contaminated? Hopefully its not the master cylinder as it can be worn and leaking.

Are the calipers on the correct side? Bleeders should be at the highest point. Also try gravity bleeding the front calipers sometimes air gets back in the rear cylinder by leaving the valve open too long.

Subbed too. Numerous fixes posted up top. Drastic and sudden loss of pressure. Usually a sign of a leak some where. My experience....Usually at a wheel cylinder. Check for fluid on the inside of tire and rim. Just a thought.

Did you by any chance change install a new master cylinder too, if so did you bench bleed it before installing it? Are you vacuum boost or Hydraulic (Im not sure which year is which) Look for a vacuum leak if vacuum boosted.

Did you bleed the back brakes too?
Still sounds like you have air in the lines to me.

The Brake warning light is likely the proportioning valve, either it has failed or is sensing a bias in pressure. This is why I asked if you bleed the rear brakes as well.
If not try bleeding the rears also and see if it helps your pedal pressure and turns the brake warning light off.

How are you bleeding your brakes?

I have great success doing it by myself by loosening the bleeder valve, putting a hose over it and then putting the other end of the hose in a small container of brake fluid. Slowly pump the pedal 3-5 times. Hand tighten the bleeder before removing the hose, remove hose and tighten bleeder valve with wrench.
Start are Right Rear, then Left Rear, Right Front and then Left Front.
Keep brake fluid topped off during the process.
