Very light shudder

Hi I'm new to this forum I have a 08 jeep patriot with 107.000 miles on it I recently got front tires after I left the tire place I drove down the road and at about 35 to 40 mph I started feeling a shudder feeling coming from the front end I took it back to the tire place and they told me there was a broken belt in one of the tires the tires were changed (used tires) it all seemed fine until later that nite I felt that shudder feeling again it's not constant or all the time I took it to my mechanic he told me it's prob the tires because they were used tires he re balanced them and told me he couldn't find anything wrong with the jeep as I was driving it I again felt that shudder at 35mph though it's not at noticible as it was the first time I can still feel it help I'm getting scared that it's something major ..

 

Describe what you mean by shutter? Do you feel it in the steering wheel? Is it bouncing you up and down in your seat? Do you feel it through the floor boards? Is it just bumpy at speed?

 

It only happens around 35 to 40 mph I don't feel it in the steering wheel or the floor it never did it before when I got the first set of tires on the front I pulled out onto the road and as soon as I got to that speed it started making a weired shuddering noise that was very noticible I took it back and got different tires put on because they told me it sounded like a belt was broke after the next set of tires was put on it stopped making the noise for a day then all of a sudden the next day it made it again but it wasn't as bad as it was with the first tires I took it to my mechanic he balanced the tires again and said he couldn't find anything wrong with the car it's still making the shuddering sound at the same speed as before just not as bad

 

Could be that one of your back tires is out of balance too. Generally a vibration felt in the front tires is felt in the whole car, but more noticeable in the steering wheel. A vibration in the rear tires is felt through the whole car but not in the steering wheel. These vibrations are usually just out of balance tires, but could also be a broken belt as you mentioned earlier. Broken belts are visible on the tire and can be seen as you rotate the tire slowly around. Maybe ask your mechanic to drive it and see for himself.

 

I had two mechanic take it for a ride and both off them told me they couldn't hear or feel anything wrong with it I asked if it could be a tork converter problem one told me no the other told me possibly I have no loss in power and it shifts if you wanna call it that normally well as normal as a cvt transmission I don't know what else to do with it I'm getting to the point wear I'm scared to drive it that's it's gonna break down I had so many new parts on it already ball joints twice tierods struts breaks and Roters. transmission fluid changed. getting so frustrated already I just don't understand how it just started doing this after I got tires

 

If it wasn't doing it before you got new/used tires and it is now, I would say that there in lies your answer. I highly doubt that it is in your torque converter unless you recently had your transmission rebuilt then it is a possibility. I have never liked buying used tires, but I have been in financial situations in which that it was necessary. If you can afford it, new generic tires is always preferable to used tires. Many times generic brands like Hankook tires become name brands like Hankook has become. Hope you find a solution.

 

No transmission rebuild just fluid changes about 6 months ago well I guess i will have to keep looking for answers on what it is thanks for you time
