    Hey Yall,

Im a new member of the forum and also pretty new to working on vehicles. That's never stopped me from breaking things in the past so here i am. Had some tranny problems a few weeks ago with my 2004 Liberty and thought it was just the solenoid pack. Figured it would be an easy fix, watched a few youtube videos, got drunk (prerequisite for all my mechanical work), and went for it. The plan was just drop the valve body, replace the solenoid pack, put a new filter, and popped it all together again. If life was only that easy.

Probably should have watched a few more videos, because I didn't know that the parking shifter should be in low gear. So I've got the Jeep in the driveway, up on jack stands, tranny still in place, and I yanked the valve body down and busted the case. That left, what I think is called, the shifter shaft stuck up in the tranny.

I know I should just stick to what I know, but what fun is that! I'm attaching a pic of what the underside of this mess looks like. If anyone has any tips I could really use some help. Don't need the truck on the road right now, but would like to get it out of the way. More importantly, cold weather is coming and it's no fun messing around in the snow on your back.

    I am not a trans expert -

    1) Describe trans issue- why did you R&R solenoids? valve body etc?
    2) WHAT were the codes that you were dealing with on the TRANS ?

Its Sunday - resources are limited - let us know 1&2 and is file helpful
