I have a little extra $$ so was thinking of a Ripp Supercharger. Anyone have one here and what are your pros and cons on it? Im pretty competent and confident that I can do the install myself but might get it installed at a shop that sells it. Just to get a warranty on the work if it starts to act up.
It would be going on a 2018 JKU.

DO IT!!! I haven't heard of any cons about the RIPP. The warranty thought is very clever. Also I bet if the folks that install it they will get it tuned in really well.

Look into prodigy and especially Banks turbos. I think that is where I'd put my money.

I want something simple to bolt on or off if necessary. The sc looks like less involved.
A few things I’ve read is that guys have problems blowing out 3rd gear. How is that happening

    NO, to adding a SC-
Unless you are an A technician with a war chest of tools and scanners etc.
It is a 2018 jeep - might want to wait till warranty expires as this will void it.
Have you looked into EMISSIONS regulations in your state?

    WHY ?

Neat project. Some feedback on mods like that was primarily on getting an optimum tune rather than the installation. But good boost when done right.

I have a friend that has a RIPP and he smoked his 35s (all four). It is a great setup. I have talked at length with Banks about their turbo setup for the 3.6 and 4.0, and I know them well from diesel applications. In the performance world turbos are considered "free" power because it does not take any HP to make it. They run off the exhaust. The super charger (SC) runs off the crankshaft of the engine thereby adding more stress to the engine than a turbo will and it robs HP as well. People used to complain about turbo lag, but technology today has virtually eliminated that. I agree that the RIPP will be easier to install though. Go check out the instructions for both on the installs and see what you think.

See that’s the thing, searches all possible install info and it seems doable in a day.

75 HP for $5K or $6K? $73 per pony. Nope.
