It's the same way here too. Between the frost coming out of the ground with the warm weather and a whole bunch of rain everything is saturated as hell lol.

105' of winch cable and 200+' of 30,000 pound tow straps and 2 snatch blocks so basically just have to be within a football field length from a solid anchor point pullpal land anchor is my next self recovery item on the list oh yeah and about 10 3/4 shackles

Hi everyone. I am Pete and I am trying to decide what I really need in a jeep. It is my turn to get a vehicle so I want a convertible but I want it to go on trails from Pennsylvania to the beaches in South Carolina. I want a Rubicon and I cannot afford a new one or I choose not to get a new one. I am 62 yrs old and want to make sure that my wife can sell it when I am gone. I had a 1975 jeep CJ-5 Renegade back in the day. I bought it without a top of any kind and drove it in Virginia Beach for a couple 3 yrs. It was hot in the summer and really cold in the winter. I drove it a lot a Hatteras on the other side of Oregon Inlet at the Otter Banks, NC

What are the best used years for a Rubicon what is best new for what I want to do. Oh I plan to camp out in it and I only want a 2 door.

Welcome Pete! Start an introductory post about yourself and jeep. Your jeep search story will make a great read.
Wranglers tend to hold their value which is a great thing and the Rubi more so. You may find financing a newer one better for your bottom line plus decent warranty to consider. One big change that occurred in 2012 was the 3.6 that replaced the 3.8L if on-the-road power is more important otherwise a good running 3.8L will work well off-road. The 2dr works well for camping ON the camping grounds but the 4dr has the room if you're planning on camping IN the jeep. I have the traditional 2dr but like to add a 4dr one day for the utility benefits.

I am new to forums so I just posted another new thread. I am older and and like the boxy look of a 2 door hard top and it is just me on the camping stuff. my wife is 10 yrs younger that me so I am going to partial retire until she does and the jeep adventure may be over by then. A new wrangler sport is $32,000.00, I put the whole number to show how aff the wall these things are getting? Its like the market for the kid that has a great job and still lives at home kind of vehicle??? I had my mind on a Sport with a tow package, and a 3.73 front axle or a 44 dana used axle down the road. I may have to rebuild it? I know nothing about the rock lock axles and would like to know what options I have on them?? Can yo get aftermarket power windows put on a sport without having to run a bunch of wires?

The new 2018+JL models have a lot of nice neat features but are priced much higher than the previous generation 2007-2018 JK models. The 4dr jeep versions outsell the 2dr jeep significantly. These factors could help you land a leftover or slightly used 2dr JK at a good discount despite jeeps high resale value. All JK models have a Dana 44 rear axle but not all JKs have the 3.73 gear ratio but they are out there. Take your time and do some researching as the Sport S JK or Willys JK model with power windows and 3.73 shouldn't be too hard to find. Tow hitches and harness are easy to install for under $90 while regearing is expensive. Post up a few examples of what you have located in your area.

I just went to a car show and they really want a lot for jeeps now. They are going to price themselves right out of business. It is getting to the point of gouging people really. I thought 3.73 was an axle? Dana 30?
