I have a 2015 jeep cherokee trailhawk, the display locks up, heat and cooling controls lock up , back up camera and navigation lock up, this happens at random times. I reset the uconnect by holding the volume button and tuning button , i depress them for 10 seconds and reboot the system. Then it restarts but there is no guarantee how long it will function before it has to be reset again...... I am fresh out of dealer warranty so i do not want to pay thousands out of pocket expense, I should just trade it in for a a newer chevy or ford. I have also done the battery disconnect, warrenty expired nov 2018, this just started jan 2019

Welcome! IMO take it to an FCA service to diagnosis / identify the problem for a fee then you can choose the next step. It could be a reflash of the system or hardware replacement or simply a broken wire, etc. All NEW vehicles no matter the brand are moving towards total electronic INTEGRATION which works great when it works but when it fails other LINKED components are dragged into the mess as you have experienced.

Is this a problem that the dealer has been trying to solve while it was still under warranty.

WHILE IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY the FC dealer was working on the stop start feature that stopped working all together, this uconnect problem just started 2 months after warranty ended.. yesterday i downloaded a flash update from uconnect, installed it last night and waiting to see results when i start it tomorrow
