Which 33"s for my Sahara?

I’m going to put 33’s on my stock 17 Sierra. No, I don’t want 35’s. I’m not going to do any rock climbing or difficult trails.

There are several sets of 33”s available used with Rubicon Wheels. They are BFG KO2’s. Should I get 256 or 285-70-R17’s.

Advantages/disadvantages between them??

Just a quick thought. You mention a stock Jeep. So you have no lift, and have no intention of installing a lift?
If this is the case. You will have a rubbing issue with 33's. Unless you replace your fender flares with a flat style flare. That size tire. Will rub on the flares. And by no stretch of the imagination am I an expert on the subject. But without proper back spaced wheels. You should also install wheel spacers. Which is another subject entirely.

 

I have read that you can install 33's without a lift and not have a problem unless you maybe do a maximum tight turn and some people don't even have problems then. The tires/wheels for sale were taken off stock Rubicons because they were being replaced by 35's and lifts. I read conflicting info a lot. I will eventually install a lift to raise it a bit but still am not interested in rock climbing just exploring easy or moderate trails.

 

KO2 get good reviews. 285/70R17 will get you 33. Get good quality wheel spacers if needed.

You can get away with 33's at stock height. You just need to consider the width of your tire to make sure it doesnt rub against the control arms and sway bar links. If it comes to where the tires rub you might either have to do some trimming on some plastic or install wheel spacers to push them away from the shit lol
