I am researching gas tank filler covers with a door and see mixed reviews on the products out there. Would appreciate any advice from folks on here who have added one on a JK.. thanks

Like my Mopar gas door as it not only finishes off the exterior but is actually functional. Keeps mud out and deters simple vandalism coupled with the Stant lock gas cap without issues. Some off brands incorporate a gas door lock. Install will require tail light removal but it's not complicated.

It really completes the exterior of the Jeep more. Just looks incomplete without one to be honest. Love mine, and pretty easy install...... Remove taillight to get at the screws, remove stock outer rim, remove rubber rim from old n attach to new outer rim, attach outer rim & screw in. Re-attach taillight and your finished.

I have at the moment a Rugged Ridge. Magnet fell off some time ago. I have a Mopar on its way now. Really like the look much better than the RR..

OK - got it installed this morning, took about 45 minutes. Here is a before, during and after pic. It is pretty simple, need to first take off tail light to access tabs and push the old one from the inside to remove it. Also, need to carefully pull out the tab holding the gas cap to the housing and the rubber gasket as you will reinstall those onto the new one. Make sure it is lined up before you start pushing in the new one as it starts locking in quickly once you begin to push. There are no screws on this one, you simply push it in and it locks and you reattach the gas cap and tail light and you are done. One other note is that the tail light screws are different lengths so just pay attention to which holes you remove them from as it will save you a few minutes when reinstalling. An easy upgrade that will keep mud and dirt off the gas cap and looks much better. Don't understand why Jeep just doesn't make this standard.

Got mine installed. Looks good. Just a tip to save time. If you have no intention on keeping or reinstalling OEM filler part. Just pop it out with a flat head. I had a hard time gettin my gorilla hands in from behind. And just popped it out from the outside. New cap and assembly just....umm...popped right in.
Also, if you've never removed the tail light. You only need to remove the 2 inside screws on the light. The 2 outside screws only hold light assembly to spacer piece on the outside of the light.
    It is a nice upgrade.
