Well, fuel tank and skid plate aren't worth saving. Smelled a bit of gas pushing it off its parking pad. Was getting pretty rusty and beaten anyway.
    Are there other options? Bigger/better?
I could go online shopping, but the brains on this site are more reliable.

Quadratec.com has replacement gas tank skid plates and straps. Saw a few TJ gas tanks on ebay that could work out. If you're fortunate perhaps you can salvage the OEM gas tank if the gas smell is due to rusty lines or pump.

It's cracked. Missing a piece of the skid plate too. Both are in poor shape. Lots available in the US. I'll be hunting through the auto wreckers for a while to find them here in Alberta - not too many out west. Lots of people make a living parting out Jeeps and trucks and you have to be fast to get a deal or even get the parts. I live in the boonies near the Rockies. It's an hour drive to a small city to even start to look for parts.
Wish me luck, it's gonna get done.

Too bad the auto wreckers are so far away. Perhaps you should make a call first. Unfortunately theres nothing to confirm the integrity of the replacement tank from the auto wreckers. The ebay seller might be an option as there may be some recourse. Good luck

    Those are fancy tanks.
Only 2 down-sides to big $hiny metal tanks... gas is over $5/gallon here, road salt, granite and black shale eats them quick without a ton of rubber or rock guard sprayed on them.
My Jeep spends so little time on town pavement, I wouldn't ever get the chance to show off that Genright tank!
BUT IF I hit the lottery...!

You asked for bigger and better :). I have one and it's an indestructible beast. Thankfully it was there when I bought the Jeep because I would have probably never laid down that kind of money.
