The JT Gladiator is a nice Jeep pickup, stylish, neat design, bit spendy but has a lot of competition in the pickup arena. For tight trail use the longish wheel base and overall length could be a hinderance. For life style use its got a lot to offer, innovative and unique but until final pricing is confirmed the the JT could be expensive. Hope more powerful engine choices become available, i.e.: diesel or turbos

Think it'll be better than a Tacoma?

Tough to beat the Toyota reputation for quality. I'm biased against most sub 6ft truck beds but if you want a pickup that can truly run naked there's only the jeep. Buy the conventional Taco if you need a solid working truck or buy the JT for the better "life-style" truck that can do it all in style while looking great.

3 inch zone lift. Fox 2.0 shocks. 35 inch nitto ridge grapplers. Bushwacker flat fenders. No name steel bumpers front and back for now.
I'm a member on Tacoma world as well. I had a 2013 access cab that I loved more than any other vehicle I've owned. Had to trade it in for a bigger truck for work needs. Got a tundra now lol. 20160508_160827.jpg

Haven't been too active on the Tundra forum but maybe I should share the JK inspired upgrades.

Will see how they compare when they release the price for the Gladiator.... but the Taco would likely be the better value but it's hard to argue with the fact a 4 door convertible pickup is unique and fun.

Spec wise they are pretty comparable, the Gladiator does have a better approach angle creating a longer wheelbase and is a little on the heavy side.JT vs Taco2.jpg

Hard to compare the Tacoma to the Gladiator in the off road sense. The Gladiator is Font & Rear solid Axels. The Tacoma is IFS. Both have great aftermarket support.

Welcome to the forum. I’ve had 3 Tacomas myself. They are great trucks. I’ve been in some serious mud with them. But there’s nothing like a Jeep. My wife and I are more into trail riding these days and we like taking the top off on the weekend and cruising to the beach. There ain’t nothing like it.

For the record I think the Colorado and the ranger are a waste of money .
