Ok so I'm looking into buying a 93 wrangler. The guy selling it says that when he has the heat on the jeep backfires through the intake? He said he switched engines and put a new map sensor in and it still does it. I've never heard of anything like this, nor has my mechanic. So I'm asking for some help . Any ideas ?

Welcome @Bigcheeze45 . Generally these issues are not related. Buying into this problem may not be in your best interest unless price is low and you have the time and/or resources to work on the jeep.

That is a weird one, I can't see how opening a vent to allow warm air into the cab of the vehicle would cause a backfire. Sounds more like a timing issue.
If you are looking for a project and you have the time to mess with it, then by all means. Otherwise I would probably walk away, his explanation just doesn't line up.

    Also welcome from Oklahoma.

He was having the issue before and changes engines and still has it. The price is 3k so I dont know if it's worth dealing with . It's only when he turns heat on( he says) . It wouldn't be much of an issue till winter but ..still gotta be addressed

Tread carefully as some misfires can be caused by different issues like vacuum leaks, timing, carb air-fuel mixture etc. Bit unusual the engine installer is not addressing the issue despite attempts with the MAF. The 6cyl with a rust-free body+frame would be interesting.
