Jeep Repairs, Austin, TX Area

    Just Jeeps in Austin, TX have repaired my old (97) TJ many times and although they have botched jobs in a minor way before never was it anything dangerous until now. They adjusted the rear suspension on my Jeep about 3 months ago and it recently started to make a clunking sound when turning. When I crawled under the Jeep to investigate I found one of the control arm bolts barely hanging on. Unknown if I could have controlled the Jeep if this bolt would have dropped out while traveling at speed. Just Jeeps, premium price and careless workmanship.
    If you are a Jeeper in the Austin area please don't make the mistake of taking your Jeep to Just Jeeps for repair.20190606_133656.jpg

    Welcome from Oklahoma.
    It would seem that they may not have torqued that one down. o_O
    Luckily you likely wouldn't have lost much control over the vehicle as it should have 3 other control arms locating the axle.
    Hopefully you hit all the other suspension nuts and bolts with a socket/wrench and made sure they were all tight as well.
    Can we get a picture of the entire Jeep?

    If that control arm drops down in a pothole say goodbye to the control arm mount on the axle housing. 10 times rather the back bolt came out in that scenario wow. Careless is an understatement.

    That is true.... if it got caught on something that could have certainly gone bad.

    I broke the yoke off my 67 Chev 4x4 truck when my driveshaft did that almost pole vaulted my truck turned the driveshaft into a pretzel

    Welcome @BMRNUT1 ...WOW! that could have been a bad situation on the road or trail. Good thing you were able to observe for unusual noises or movement to warn you. Have all the bolts and fasteners torqued to OEM specs.

    Luckily it's still in one piece. I've had it 20 years so I'm a little attached to it.
