Hey all, I’m a newbie to the whole Jeep world. I’m looking to lift my Jk (3.25 in) and add bigger tires (35s). However, after doing some research there seems to be a lot I need to worry about from strengthening my tailgate mount to recalibration of my gears. Are there any musts things I need to get done to ensure a safe and affordable ride?

Welcome @nsom71 ...my JK has the Teraflex HD hinge which is strong and ez to install. Probably best to regear but there is no immediate rush. Buy one of the programmers to let the PCM know the tire size change as the 35s will affect the overall performance. Post some pics of your project JKU via "upload-a-file" tab.

Appreciate the info @aggrex ...looked into the tire carriers. Not sure which one I want to go with yet, but definitely seems like I need that upgrade. When you say programmer, are you talking about a flashcal?

Yes. There are many choices available. Some are even available to access via phone app
